The Hako Bench is an elegant and functional bench created by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl for 101 Copenhagen. The top of the Hako is handmade in solid oak with an inlay of French bamboo mesh, which creates a semi-transparent surface. The conical shaped legs are made in metal. The design of the Hako is inspired by Japanese living and the recurrent use of wooden shelving units in their interiors. As a matter of fact, Hako is the Japanese word for box or storage. The Hako Bench is suitable for both residential and commercial spaces, for example in living rooms, hallways, hotel suites, restaurants and bars.
